A diaper was caught in one of the MRT-3's power lines, stalling rush hour operations and delaying tens of thousands of commuters Monday morning, a transportation official said.
The MRT, which serves roughly 500,000 passengers daily, was on limited operations due to the incident at the Ayala-EDSA section, Transportation Undersecretary for Railways Cesar Chavez said in a text message to reporters.
At 6:16 a.m., train service stopped from Taft Avenue to Boni Avenue stations and vice versa, according to a service status report. Normal operations resumed at 7:43 a.m.
It was not clear how the diaper got to the power line.
At the Quezon Avenue station, passenger queue reached up to Mother Ignacia Street.
