A track problem partially halted operations of the Metro Rail Transit-3 on Tuesday morning, the Department of Transportation said in a tweet.

The affected tracks were on the northbound rails between Ortigas Avenue and Santolan - Annapolis Stations prompting the halting of train service from North Avenue to Shaw Boulevard Stations from 5:52 a.m. to 6:34 a.m.

For about half an hour, MRT-3 trains only operated between Taft Avenue to Shaw Boulevard Stations.

The track problem was categorized as a CAT 4, meaning service interruption or cancellation of loops.

Normal operations resumed at 6:34 a.m.

MRT-3 management has apologized to the public for the service interruption.

There were eight trains running as of 6 a.m., as per the last update from the MRT-3 official Twitter account.
