Operations of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) were limited on Tuesday night after heavy rains brought flooding to the system's railways.

At around 9:15 p.m., MRT personnel at GMA-Kamuning Station announced that service was limited from North Avenue Station to Shaw Boulevard Station and vice versa only.

A security officer told GMA News Online that the railways going to Ayala MRT Station have been flooded.

Earlier at around 4:30 p.m., MRT also limited its operations from North Avenue Station to Shaw Boulevard Station to the dismay of hundreds of passengers who already lined up at the Ayala MRT station.

The trains were fully operational at around 7 p.m. until the operations were once again cut off.

Heavy rains battered the capital region on Tuesday night as Typhoon Nona cut its way across Luzon. State weather bureau PAGASA issued a red rainfall alert as several flood prone areas around Metro Manila experienced severe flooding.
