Around 850 passengers were unloaded on Monday morning after a southbound train of the Metro Rail Transit-3 had a glitch.

The passengers were unloaded at the MRT Guadalupe Station, according to a report on GMA News' Unang Balita.

Due to the glitch, the queue at the MRT Quezon Avenue Station has reached Sgt. Esguerra Street in Quezon City.

In a tweet, the Department of Transportation said the glitch was caused by an electrical failure in the motor at 6:23 a.m.

The passengers were able to board the next train which arrived at the station after nine minutes.

According to the DOTr, the electrical failure in the motor may have been caused by worn-out electrical sub-components.

The DOTr apologized to commuters for the inconvenience. —KG, GMA News
