Recent data showed that the number of passengers who ride the MRT daily went down by over 100,000. A number of factors that contributed to the decline were the fare increase,
glitches, and the decrease in available trains. This contributed to traffic congestion in EDSA as passengers are forced to take buses instead. This report aired over CNN Philippines' Nightly News on April 27, 2015.
