⁰A Northbound train suffered an ELECTRICAL FAILURE IN ITS MOTOR between Boni & Shaw Boulevard stations at 7:10 pm today.⁰⁰Passengers voluntarily disembarked from the train & walked to the station while being assisted by our station personnel. @gmanews
The passengers who voluntarily got off the train were assisted by personnel in walking back to the station.
The incident is the second time on Friday that train operation was interrupted.
Earlier in the day, about 1,000 passengers were unloaded due to a technical problem. the management identified the problem as "door failure."
The MRT-3 management posted on Twitter that, "One cause of door failure is stress in door components which may be caused by leaning on the door or forcing it open."
Recommended remedial measures are to remind passengers not to lean on the door or force it open and preventive maintenance and replacement of door components (must ensure availability of spare parts).
